Driver jobs range from chauffeur, courier, truck, bus, and taxi drivers; the list can go on as you might imagine. The highest-paying driver jobs, however, involve specialized licenses and unique driving experience. It often involves driving in dangerous or undesirable conditions, dealing with hazardous materials.

- Truck driver
OTR’s or Over-The-Road truck drivers earn a good sum of money because of the extensive travel and long hours on the road. They must be thoroughly knowledgeable about the laws that govern their profession. The basic requirement for an OTR truck driver is that the driver should be at least 23 years old and possess a commercial driver’s license. The average salary of a truck driver is an approximate $50,000. Drivers driving in extreme conditions can earn up to a whopping $100,000 annually.
- Film and television stunt driver
Film and television stunt drivers get paid more than $100,000 per year. The only down low here is that on some days you work while on some days you don’t. So, if it is a big project, you can take home six figures annually. The minimum requirements include a valid driver’s license and excellent physical fitness to perform driving stunts.
- Factory test driver
Automobile manufacturers such as Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, etc., need drivers in their engineering teams to evaluate various motor aspects of a car that is still under the manufacturing process. To qualify for a factory test driver job, an applicant must at least have completed coursework in automotive engineering and design. Being in this field can help you earn $70,000 or more annually.
- UPS driver
UPS drivers get paid well. Between the salary and overtime, a driver’s job at UPS can easily help one earn over $70,000 annually. Although, it is not an easy job, as it requires you to be behind the wheels, rain or shine. The UPS website states that applicants for UPS driver jobs must pass a D.O.T exam and have the ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle and have a commercial driving license.
